Post-Operative Care Instructions
Protection is Key
- Eye Shield: Wear the shield at night for at least 2-4 weeks (longer for transplants).
- Safety Glasses: Wear protective glasses during the day to prevent accidental bumps.
- Avoid Rubbing: NEVER rub the eye; this can break delicate sutures and cause graft failure.
Medication
- Anti-Rejection Drops: For transplants, steroid drops must be taken exactly as prescribed, often for months or years.
- Lubrication: Use preservative-free artificial tears frequently to aid healing.

- Redness
- Sensitivity to light
- Vision decline
- Pain
